Country Pergola Flinders
Commissioned by one of Australia’s leading fashion designers and her partner International photographer Jo Daniell. (www.jodaniell.com). We were asked to construct a pergola that would not only provide a solid structure to anchor the new garden but also provide an important visual link between the garden rooms.
Constructed from huge pieces of old ironbark sourced from an old wool shed in country Victoria & coupled with the architectural strength of solid rusted steel beams this amazing pergola looks like it has been part of the rugged Flinders landscape that surrounds the property for many years.
It was important to the design team and the owner that the structure would be self-supporting with no attachment to any other structure. This in itself was done with clever engineering and design.
This pergola is 8metres wide and 100metres long with a water feature separating it from the 10 individual garden rooms.
